Bureau de Dame Small writing desk

Bureau de Dame Small writing desk

DescriptionAttractive bureau de dame, Bonheur de jour or ladies writing desk (call it what you will) in walnut from around 1890 - 1900. With its multiplicity of cupboards and drawers it offers much storage space for paperwork, pens, rulers etc or the paraphernalia of our computer age, including the space to use a laptop. There are nine drawers and three cupboards - the upper two having six cubby holes apiece. Please note - when all but two of the photos were taken it was awaiting a new leather skiver in maroon. Will it fit your space however?...It is just under 38 inches wide and 24 inches deep with an overall height of 47 inches and a working top height of about 29 inches. The upper section (which can be removed if necessary) is some 10 inches deep and has a shapely little gallery on three sides. It retains its original brass castors and, as you can see, its full compliment of handles also.
