'Bank looking towards the Mansion house' a hand coloured lithograph by Thomas Shotter Boys published in 1842 as one of the series 'London as it is'. Mounted in window mount and framed and glazed. Overall dimensions 23 by 19 inches. View of the south front of the bank from the corner of Bartholomew Lane, looking west part of the Mansion House on the right, the spire of St Antholin on Budge Row just to the right in foreground to right the Bank beadle gives directions to a countrified pair, building works taking place on the left, a small crowd outside bank. This print was made not long after Sir John Soane's masterpiece, the Bank of England, had been completed. Almost without a doubt Britains most famous neo classical architect a museum named after him, which is a treasure house of his work, is located in Holborn, London. For reference see example of this print held by the British museum - Museum number 1880,1113,3665.1

Unique metamorphic dining table in mahogany from the first quarter of the 19th century. Comprising three especially made, and exactly matching (with the exception of one that has an end drawer), tables that link to make one which measures just under 9ft 10 inches long by 36 inches wide. Totally original with their correct pegs to locate their joining and full complement of correct brass castors. Some sunlight fading, especially to one but we have left them as they are so that the next owners can choose whether or not to re-finish (we have an in house restorer who can carry this out if desired). The table's tops are made from single planks with handsome grain and almost certainly hearken from the same tree The configuration of this piece allows for the tables to be also used separately in which case one has three matching smaller dining tables measuring some 40 by 36 inches apiece. Their 36 inch width, either made up into one table or separated into three allows for ample leg room. NB - although each section fits together very well, and quite obviously the table has seen some 200 years use as it is, we can supply good quality reproduction forked clip for the undersides if the purchaser felt them to be a worthwhile addition.
