Stylish 19th century parquetry library table
Unique metamorphic dining table in mahogany from the first quarter of the 19th century. Comprising three especially made, and exactly matching (with the exception of one that has an end drawer), tables that link to make one which measures just under 9ft 10 inches long by 36 inches wide. Totally original with their correct pegs to locate their joining and full complement of correct brass castors. Some sunlight fading, especially to one but we have left them as they are so that the next owners can choose whether or not to re-finish (we have an in house restorer who can carry this out if desired). The table's tops are made from single planks with handsome grain and almost certainly hearken from the same tree The configuration of this piece allows for the tables to be also used separately in which case one has three matching smaller dining tables measuring some 40 by 36 inches apiece. Their 36 inch width, either made up into one table or separated into three allows for ample leg room. NB - although each section fits together very well, and quite obviously the table has seen some 200 years use as it is, we can supply good quality reproduction forked clip for the undersides if the purchaser felt them to be a worthwhile addition.

18th Century Oak and Pine Cricket Table
Georgian Mahogany Supper Table with dished tilt top made from a single piece of timber. Standing on a centre column and tripod base with pad feet, the whole having attractive detail. With the exception of an ancient, perhaps even added when the table was almost new, metal butterfly bridge to a shake in the very large section of Cuban mahogany. It is total original down to its brass snap catch - which operates smoothly and locks the table firmly and has a very pleasing patina. Measurements 28" High 30" Diameter Date C 1790

French Cherrywood Table
A good 19th century French cherry wood table with 3 plank top, tapered legs and single side drawer. Measures just an inch under six foot long at 71 inches by 31 inches across and 30 inches high - legroom should be fine with most chairs as it is 24 inches. A good many of similar tables have had their legs 'tipped' to gain extra height or to get rid of rot at their lower extremities - this table, as you can see has not needed this work and the legs, although showing signs of historic woodworm to the surface in places, are original, sound and sturdy. The drawer is compartmented as they sometimes are and there is a small section of the lower edge missing (as will be seen in the photos). Will seat six very comfortably or eight with a bit of a squeeze. We have pictured this table with a set of circa 1800 English camel back elm chairs which we also have in stock as we think they look rather good together - the chairs are available separately for £620 or if someone would like both table and chairs £1650 for the entire ensemble.

19th century French Cherry Wood dining table 6ft
An attractive and extremely useful mid 19th century tilt top wine or occasional table in mahogany. Standing 28 inches high its nicely figured 24 inch diameter top and robust base makes it rather more useful than similar table of more petite dimensions. The tilting facility is fully operational and retains its original snap catch thus allowing it to put to one side when not in use if desired.

Circular tilt top mahogany wine / occasional table
What an attractive and useful thing this is - equally at home in the house or garden. The brass tray is about 27 inches in diameter and the whole stands about 21 inches high and is suitable for either permanent location as a coffee or display table, or for occasional use due to the benefit of the folding leg stand. The tray has gorgeous engraved design work displaying great intricacy and features lions, birds and sari clad ladies. The wooden folding base is carved all over and has a small mother of pearl and ebony highlight to each of its six legs, as well as bobbin work to the out-riggers. NB one tiny ornamental turning is missing from the base of the central pole.

Benares brass tray - folding occasional table
19th century West Country serving table in elm with its original scrubbed pine top. 66 inches long by just over 31 wide and stands 31 inches tall. Three drawers with original turned handles. Spent the majority of its life in a mid Devon farmhouse and was on occasions used for eating at but with a clearance of just 21 inches beneath the side and end rails it cannot really be classed as an everyday dining table. We have left its original and now worn finish strictly alone, but if the new owner's preference was for a lighter look then the elm base could of course be carefully stripped. The base has been visited by Mr and Mrs Woodworm in the past so, although this is well and truly historic and not active (it has been treated just to make doubly sure), if evidence of their life cycle is a total anathema to you this piece may not be for you..........unless you are happy to spend hours carefully filling each hole that is!
