A rather elegant early 19th century drop leaf pedestal table - the top of plum pudding mahogany with central backgammon board and a drawer at either end. Considering its age this attractive piece is in very sound and eminently usable condition but on account of a slight air of 'scruffiness' which would perhaps preclude it from some peoples' homes it can be yours for just £465. The 'scruffiness', or patina, includes wear to drawer runners (they still function as they should however), ring pulls on one drawer are non matching replacements (correct originals on other drawer illustrated), a c 2inch chip on one rule joint and the top is faded and somewhat marked. The latter comprising of two or three faintish drink glass rings, other small 'spills' and stains (from the exuberance of players?) and the lacquer of the backgammon board scratched (especially on buff ground) and marked. All that said this is an unusual games table, which, on account of its size would double for other uses and make a characterful addition to the antique household.
