Why on earth I bought this I cannot think but perhaps its was the romantic image of repelling attackers with this fort's array of armament. A bevy of rather feeble spring operated German tinplate guns arranged around the ramparts. No maker's name on this so presumed to be home made. Hours of fun for boys and fathers alike, and for only £65, if they have some soldiers to defend or attack this grand fortification.

Large Triang dolls house - measuring just over 26 inches wide by 11 inches deep and 17 inches tall. Undecided as to whether it is just prewar or post but most probably the latter? Play worn and with the patina of an un messed around suburban villa it is absolutely complete with all correct fixtures and fittings - please note however that the lower locating tab of the window to the left of the front door is missing. It has been inhabited for many years by the rather quirky Mr and Mrs Deboucher and their two children but can come with vacant possession or the Debouchers.

The Dominion Toy Manufacturing Co was established in Toronto in 1911 and made Dolls and Teddy Bears until 1932. Characterised by their life like heads with opening and closing eyes and fully ball jointed , if verging on primitive, composition bodies this example is typical of the firm's products. Brought back to England by a family who spent time in Canada during the early part of the last century this has the look of DTMC's Eaton Beauty, which was made for one year only in 1915. ......ooooh - by the way she stands about 20 inches tall in her stockinged feet.
