A celebratory / memorial print of Samuel Plimsoll, the Seaman's Friend, inventor of the "Plimsoll Line" safe loading indicator now on all commercial ships. To the reverse is a press cutting Obituary dated 1898. The colours are still good and bright and the original maple frame is good.

'Bank looking towards the Mansion house' a hand coloured lithograph by Thomas Shotter Boys published in 1842 as one of the series 'London as it is'. Mounted in window mount and framed and glazed. Overall dimensions 23 by 19 inches. View of the south front of the bank from the corner of Bartholomew Lane, looking west part of the Mansion House on the right, the spire of St Antholin on Budge Row just to the right in foreground to right the Bank beadle gives directions to a countrified pair, building works taking place on the left, a small crowd outside bank. This print was made not long after Sir John Soane's masterpiece, the Bank of England, had been completed. Almost without a doubt Britains most famous neo classical architect a museum named after him, which is a treasure house of his work, is located in Holborn, London. For reference see example of this print held by the British museum - Museum number 1880,1113,3665.1

A well executed, but unsigned, 19th century oil painting on board of the upper reaches of the River Dart in South Dartmoor, Devon. Overall in good condition with just a little paint loss to extreme lower right but absolutely no flaking. Original gilt frame with some small losses and somewhat scruffy faded grey/blue paper to rear. Measures 54cm by 44 cm overall.

A good impression of George Morland's 1799 print The Fern Gatherers (engraved by J.R. Smith) in window mount and traditional Hogarth frame at £145. We also have a slightly later, S. Hilderheimer, edition of Morland's 'The Cottagers' (engraved by W. Ward) - by S. Hilderheimer at £65 - NB we have removed this one from its oak frame and print is intact with plate mark and script. Lastly another Morland - the rare self portrait published by Edward Orme the year after the artist's death in 1805, in old Hogarth frame £245
