Longwy floral dish
A most unusual and fantastique Longwy wall pocket of a design that places it right amidst the razzmatazz of the 1920s and is utterly evocative of that era with a trio of 'It girls", perhaps not Clara Bow herself but one of her Parisien counterparts, gesturing that they're ready for anything and up for it all. Longwy enamel ware (Emaux de Longwy) comes in many shapes and forms with patterns such as apple blossom being maybe the most well known amongst a variety of other plant forms, birds etc: but we have never come across an example such as this. Measuring some 10 inches 'top to toe' it has all the unmistakeable hallmarks of Emaux de Longwy with raised decoration, craqueleur to the glaze and is clearly back stamped as well being free of damage.
